John Krasinski’s IF Trailer Puts Ryan Reynolds In A Live-Action Pixar Movie

Besides Steve Carell backing up his former office pal, John Krasinski, “IF” will also see his wife and former “A Quiet Place” co-star, Emily Blunt joining the fun. The imaginary entourage will also boast the talent of Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Vince Vaughn, and Sam Rockwell to name a few. As for the grown-ups that’ll be getting caught up in the adventure, Fleming’s father will be played by Ryan Reynolds, whose production company Maximum Effort is also backing the film.

The movie already got a positive reaction when footage was shown at CinemaCon, with Krasinski explaining (via Deadline), “I had this idea for a movie years ago about imaginary friends. I want this movie to be believing in something bigger…and getting you through something bigger, that’s possible.” With a pitch like that, you can expect heartstrings to be yanked hard and it fulfills Reynolds’ description of “IF” being “a live-action Pixar film.”

With that kind of comparison, it makes a nice change from a post-apocalyptic world for Fleming, having played Judith Grimes in 53 episodes of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” It also marks her first major role in a big-screen project, having previously played young Rey in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” We can see how she handles things when “IF” arrives in theatres on May 17, 2024.
