Nicolas Cage believes that “Leaving Las Vegas” is one of his best performances, and he still loves the movie. Responding to Reddit user u/TommyLeeBrown during an AMA, the “Face/Off” star elaborated on why he enjoys the romantic drama, noting that it continues to inform the roles he wants to do.
“I have not seen Leaving Las Vegas recently; however, that movie and Elizabeth Shue’s work in that movie are what I aspire to continue towards, and I did continue towards with ‘Pig,’ which is why I am always going to be up for small-budget, independent dramas.”
Cage’s comments about “Leaving Las Vegas” suggest he’s arguably more attracted to artistry than money. Still, he isn’t opposed to appearing in blockbusters either, as evidenced by his surprise cameo as Superman in “The Flash.” Furthermore, Marvel has also teased Cage returning to the Ghost Rider character, but it remains to be seen if his version of Johnny Blaze will ride again.
